Free Community Programs Sponsored by Quest Foundation
At Quest Foundation, our mission is to ensure that every child has access to the ice, regardless of financial circumstances. To fulfill that mission, we proudly sponsor and host two free introductory programs that give children the opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, and discover a lifelong love for skating and hockey.These programs are fully funded by the Quest Foundation and delivered at our partner facilities, including IceRealm Westminster and IceRealm Carlsbad.
First Steps: Learn to Skate for FREE
Our First Steps Learn-to-Skate Program removes financial barriers so every child can experience the joy of learning to skate. Whether a child has never stepped on the ice before or is simply looking for a safe, encouraging environment, this program provides:
• Free instruction from trained coaches
• A fun and welcoming environment
• Lessons designed for complete beginners
• A pathway into skating, hockey, figure skating, or recreation
Quest Foundation proudly sponsors these sessions so families can explore skating without cost, pressure, or commitment.
Try Hockey for FREE
We believe hockey should be accessible to everyone. Through our Try Hockey for Free program, Quest Foundation covers the full cost of:
• On-ice instruction
• Safety gear (loaner equipment)
• Skates and sticks
• Coach-led developmental drills
• A supportive introduction to the sport
This program allows kids to discover hockey in a fun, safe, no-cost environment—making it easy for families to try the sport before deciding if they want to continue.
Where the Programs Are Offered:
Quest Foundation hosts these free programs in partnership with local rinks—including Ice Realm Westminster and Ice Realm Carlsbad—who provide ice time and operational support.
This nonprofit-led structure allows us to partner directly with:
• Schools
• PTAs
• Youth organizations
• City departments
• Community centers
All programs are free for families and fully supported by Quest Foundation donors and community partners.
